Pure Recycle Oy and Carnaud Metalbox Engineering Ltd sign a significant cooperation agreement in the UK

Tampere-based circular economy technology company Pure Recycle Oy has signed a significant licensing agreement with CMbE Carnaud Metalbox Engineering Ltd (Crown Holdings), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of aluminium packaging equipment. The agreement covers the manufacture and sale of Pure Recycle’s aluminium can and plastic bottle return machines in the UK, which will be marketed under a new brand, CMB RVM Solutions.

Bottle and can recycling as a local service

The aim of the collaboration is to build a comprehensive solution that strongly supports deposit systems and makes it easy for people to participate, not only through car dealerships, but also in their own local environment. To this end, a network of return machines will be built in high-traffic areas, such as convenience stores, hotels, sports stadiums, festivals and restaurants, where canned and bottled beverages are commonly purchased and consumed.

Pure is successful and the partner network is expanding

This is the company’s second major distribution agreement this year, making Pure Recycle’s solution available through a local partner in two major European markets: the UK and Poland. The company aims to expand its partner network in all European countries that are transitioning to a deposit system for aluminum cans and plastic bottles in the coming years, as required by EU regulations. The goal is to create a network of return machines as a local service throughout Europe within the next five years.

The most advanced solution on the market

Pure Recycle’s range includes two mobile and installation-free return machines for aluminum cans and plastic bottles. The smaller device, 103 cm high, is designed for restaurants, festivals, sporting events, i.e. places where drinks are purchased and returned in the same place. The larger device, 150 cm high, is designed for the return of cans and bottles from consumer customers in convenience stores and kiosks. This device accepts plastic bottles of all sizes up to 3 liters. Due to their size and mobility, Pure Recycle Oy’s products are a unique solution for collecting beverage containers in locations where recycling has not previously been possible. Both devices are connected to deposit and payment systems via Tible’s ReverseVendingCollector software platform, which also offers the service provider online reporting and remote management and maintenance functions for the devices.
